¹⁷ I did not go up to Jerusalem to see those who were apostles before I was. ·But [Instead; Rather] I went away to Arabia [^Cprobably the Nabatean kingdom south of Damascus] and later went back to Damascus.

¹⁸ Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to ·meet [get to know; or confer with; gain information from] ·Peter [^LCephas, Peter’s name in Aramaic; John 1:42] and stayed with him for fifteen days. ¹⁹ I ·met [or saw] no other apostles, except James [Acts 12:17; 15:13–21; 21:18; James 1:1], the brother of the Lord.
